This silverplated gadget was made c.1815, probably in Sheffield England.
It's 8 inches (20.3 cm) high. You seldom see these.
What was it used for ?

Yes, it's a cucumber slicer. Not too many around. This one is in the Weston Park Museum, Sheffield, England.
