Please Help Me. Need Hallmark Information on a platter.

Hello everyone. This is my first post. Thanks for existing! I am looking for information on a Turkey platter I have in my possession. I believe it to be British Sterling but couldn't locate the particular hallmark on your list. Here are two photos. Thanks in advance for any help!

They look rather like pseudo-marks to me. I'm sorry I can't tell you any more.

Pseudo-marks meaning that they seem to be fakes or something like that? It was my Great Grand Mother's turkey platter. She was married to The Chief Supreme Court Justice of the Provincial Court of Ontario. Pretty Blue Blood. I would hate to think they were duped, but you never do know. If anyone has any further information, that would be great. Thanks a lot for the help!! I am thinking they would have been from the turn of the century.

I always like to describe psuedo-marks as just having no meaning.

Back then Canada did not have a regulated system for marking their silver products. They often put psuedo marks on solid silver pieces.
Checked my two books on Canadian silver, but could not find that set of marks. Still, a Canadian silversmith would be my guess.

Thanks a lot Pat. I was unsure what a pseudo mark was. It weighs half a pound, pretty heavy. So, a Canadian silversmith using pseudo marks. That is neato. Thanks again for your reply!!

looks pretty close to Gorham. Could be another version of marks?

Yes it does have that Gorham look. The only extra stamp being the head facing left. This would be dated around the time my great grandfather would have gotten married in the latter part of the 19th century. If anyone else sees anything let me know.

I was wrong on the weight. It weights around a kilogram. It is pretty heavy!
