Lille Maker Needed

Post by robert12 »

Hi,
This teaspoon seems to check out as Lille circa 1763, can anyone throw some light on a maker please ?
Under an eye glass it is a crowned FR.
There are a few other marks including 2 x letter C, a mark that looks almost like a small horses head and
another mark like a mini candelabra between the 2 C marks. This has depth so probably not a material fault.
A lovely little well made spoon.
Thanks in advance
Robert.

Lille, 1762-1763, by Claude-François Ricourt, dit François (1710-after 1781), Master 1733

The C’s are the owner’s initials, and I can’t make out the smaller marks.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your speedy answer.
A lot of marks for just a little teaspoon but a great example.
I have looked at pic 3 from all directions and cannot work out what it depicts.
The same applies to pic 4, a definite mark as deeply struck.
Great to pinpoint a maker though.
