Russian Object Identification Curved Knife

I've spent hours trying to figure out what this item it. It has russian silver hallmarks and a stag handle. The curved, chisel edge blade measures 2-7/8" long. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think this is home made fantasy knife.
Kokoshnik mark (enlarged here) is completely wrong and``88`` fineness .916 is absurd.

Excuse me if I ask for clarification, Russian silver is not really my field, but on this site

there are some examples of Russian silver with fineness 88.
Are they fake?
The object could be a cigar cutter?

There was 88 zolotniki fineness, mostly used by prominent silversmiths for the highest quality objects.
Being softer alloy than 84 I see no logic in using it for cutting edge of any kind.
Cannot figure out how the knife works and its purpose, but again, I find this kokoshnik mark wrong in many aspects.

I don't either know what it is used for, but if it is supposed to be a knife, it is useless. The "silver" is too soft. Moreover, I also share AG 2012's opinion, the marks are pure fantasy even if there are some similarities. They have, anyway, nothing to do with Russia

Thanks for the replies. As far as 88 silver being useless for a cutting edge, there are sterling bladed folding fruit knives. Maybe this could this be some type of specialized fruit knife?

Hello again,
Fineness ``88`` is not the main issue here.Its advantage was better casting properties (relief details) and was mostly used for exquisite objects.
Unfortunately,whatever the purpose of this strange object (with serrated edges), marks have nothing to do with Imperial Russian marks.
