Arminjon I lists this mark (LAT, with a duck and a ball above) as that of Louis Auguste Taillepied, maker of couverts (forks & spoons), 14 rue des Anglais, registered 1801, with no other information (mark 2223). Oddly, Taillepied is not listed in any of the available Paris Almanacs of the period, but Paris civil records reveal:

Married: 28 Oct 1797 [7 Brumaire an VI], Paris, Nôtre Dame de Paris parish, to Marie Elisabeth Lainé, daughter of Pierre Jacques Lainé & Elisabeth Antoinette Marchand
Died: 20 Apr 1847, Paris, 12th arrondissement; residence, rue St. Victor No. 76; occupation, spoonmaker
Buried: 22 Apr 1847, Cimetière du Sud, (now Cimetière du Montparnasse), Paris, 14th arrondissement)
