Italian Gold Hallmark 234 PD on Intaglio Earrings

I have a pair of 750 gold Italian Intaglio style earrings that I am trying to date and locate the maker. It looks to be * 234 PD but I am not sure. I have searched for days trying to find a maker with that number unsuccessfully. If anyone knows please share!
