Please help me with marks

Post by GlennBell »

I have an oval shaped silver salver. There are five stamps on the bottom. In order they go SI inside a double-sided circle with a dot in middle of the two letters. Then a lion passant. Then some gargoyle looking thing with two horns or ears. Then a capitol P . The last mark is a head looking to the right. Also on one of the feet (there's four) there is a capitol L. This piece is around 10 inches long and 7 wide . Its in great condition. I am curious about its history and possibly want to sell it . Its also got a wierd logo thing in the middle. Like two snakes looking up at a bowl. Please help me out anyone. Is it Sterling? Thank you .

Might be London sterling hallmarks. Check here:

A picture would be a big help.
