800 Silver Tray I acquired in Cincinnati, OH.

Stamp is a bit messy. As far as I can tell, it reads "COBBARD." Other variations could be "COSSARD," "GOBBARD," or "GOSSARD."

None of these spellings have produced any information helping me to determine the origin of this item. Any information the forum could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Need better photos of left side marks. Thread search suggests Decimal type mark 0.800 may be Swiss useage (mainly watches, but larger possible). Please confirm "0.800" or "0,800".

Probably not related, but Bossard is a name of Swiss origins and there was a Bossard Jewelry Company in 1800's Ohio documented here: http://iagenweb.org/story/FamHist/Gossard/Gossard.htm

C.A Gossard Company, 1249 Countryside Drive, Washington Court House, Fayette County, Ohio 43160. In business since 1848. Traces origin to immigrant German lockmaker Dionysius Furtwangler who opened a small jewelry store. (History in 1976 ad. from local newspaper on a commercial site...could not read all.) Still shown as operating today. [This would be a retailer...still need photos of maker marks.]

The stamp is rather small and not very defined. I'm fairly certain the first letter is "C" or "G".

There are other related postsin the forum. But allow me to copy a quote from memeber blackstone from 2008:
