Maltese circa 1800 serving spoon

Thought I’d share this spoon it’s only the second old piece of Maltese silver I have found. The spoon obviously came back to the UK and the kind Victorians ‘enhanced’ it. Berry spoons as nice as they are, are not useable to eat your cornflakes with in the morning! This one though was really one I had to have in my collection. I think the R may be crowned but the mark is worn so that would date it pre 1799?

Thanks Amena, Trev. I did look at the damaged mark and think that it was Lebruns mark. I feel very lucky to have 2 pieces of his with different marks. I wonder just how much silver was brought out of Malta all those years ago as it seems to turn up elsewhere?

It’s journey didn’t stop as it ended up with me now in Finland!
