Silver Vodka Shooters? "S" engraved

Post by infiniteforcellc »

Good Afternoon,

First I would like to thank you for the access to this forum and thank you in advance for any input/assistance.

We have acquired these (4) silver (possibly vodka?) shooter glasses? They appear similar to a "wine fountain" set based on my research, however I cannot seem to locate any information or anything similar online after MONTHS of research. Each is marked with an "S" and one glass has illegible markings (photos 5 & 6 attached), which I have included here as well. When tested with a magnet, they do not react.

I was hoping for some assistance or opinions on these beautifully engraved glasses to help with what they may be (called or referred to, to assist with locating similar), and also where they may have originated from, honestly, anything to assist really would be appreciated!

Thank you, again, so much for your time.

P.S. Please let me know if the photos were not appropriately added or there are any other issues with this (my first) posting! :)

Hi infiniteforcellc -

I suspect that it is silver from Persia. Usually this silver is stamped - see photo.
Without marks or purity - what can you say?

Thank you Goldstein! I will try a Persia Silver glass/search, anything other than my past searches is helpful!

I truly was posting in hopes that getting it out to review by some more knowledgeable (as they are "marked" with a clear "S" stamped on all glasses/cups - not sure what that may mean, although being unclear otherwise). Guess I was just hoping maybe someone had seen this etching before, knows the design, has a set, etc. Lots of smart and talented people out there in the world that I am sure are more aware than I, about silver, and I have had some success reaching out previously, so as a last resort, it was worth a shot, to try to solve my personal mystery! :)

Thanks again for your review and I will try that route!
