We've got this beautiful Rococo Revival coffeepot. Clearly marked "Hgr"
and the Copenhagen 3 tower mark with "51" underneath. Seems simple OK. Here's the problem. to be Hugo Grun it must be 1951 not 1851, because Grun wasn't in business in 1851 but he was in 1951.
What is puzzling us, is the style. Roccoco Revival was not a sought after pattern in 1951, it doesn't seem logical for that date and seems far more logical for 1851, the height of the revival. Could it be made in 1851 and Gruns mark added later. Appreciate any input.
