Hello,
Three questions please:
1) Does anyone know anything about the hallmark on this spoon?
2) Does anyone know an "approximate" date the spoon might have been made?
3) Would you polish it, or leave it in original condition. I want to use this as a display piece.
Thanks to everyone for looking at my post, and for your time and effort.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
It is German, indeed.
The mark is crescent and crown Reichsmark (Imperial mark) used since 1886.
See here
https://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks.html
There is only fineness ``800`` so, without maker`s mark no identification of place and maker are possible.
I guess it could be late 19th century based on the shape and overall appearance of the marks.
It is advisable to clean it but do not use any abrasives.
When exposed to elements patina will form again. After all, silver was so desirable for being a shiny metal.

Hello,
Thank you AG2012 for your wealth of information. I've attached two more pictures to examine. I just looked at the entire spoon with a loop. The Only marks on there are the moon with the crown- unfortunately. Guess I'm out of luck... Just in case, here are the pictures you requested AG2012. Thanks again for your time!
