Been doing well with my marks but...now I'm stuck !

Post by Shepherdess »

Hi Folks, With the help of all the great posts (crawl crawl !! ) on here and pointers to the brill sites available I haven't had to beg for info for a while. But I'm stuck, this doesn't look like a silverplate mark to me. The stamping seems quality impress, but it doesn't look like a standard hallmark to me either. All bright ideas gratefully received ?

The handle looks unlike what I'd expect to find on an English silver fruitknife: all I've seen have a bolster, as with this Georgian example.
Yours is most likely silver plate.
