He was born in Switzerland around 1783.
The registers of the Entry of Aliens to the UK record him paying short visits in 1826, 1837 and 1838. He is variously described as a merchant, a tradesman or a watch case maker.
The website records of these visits appear incomplete as he was also in the UK in 1827 when he entered a maker’s mark at Goldsmiths Hall as a case maker from 20 Hyde Street, Bloomsbury and in 1835 when he entered another mark as a watch case maker from Wilmington Square.
The Post Office Directory for 1845 records him as a watch case maker from 9 Wilmington Square.
