Any of makers on these two coin silver spoons?

Post by testing123 »

First one has the initlals MP 1796 on the back. Wondering if it's American now with the other odd hallmark? Maker's mark DF with unknown hallmark. Can anyone help with maker's mark?

Definitely not American. The form of these is Northern or Central European.

Searching "Pricked" (no quotes) may lead to other samples.

Diederich Floercken of Bremen Germany from around 1800 so probably contemporaneous to the engraving. Someone with better knowledge of German silversmiths could definitely add additional info
