Hi! I have this coffepot which bears some hallmarks I thought to be French ones.... but I have some doubts because of the eagle with R.
Could anyone help me? May the hallmarks refer to the French Napoleonic domination in Italy or elsewhere? The male head has on its helmet the letter B
French or other??
Re: French or other??
The eagle with the letter R is the "ricognizione" mark (ascertainment) for objects made before 1814, in use in the kingdom of Sardinia.
The other marks could be those in use from 1809 to 1814 under the French domination. However the letter B does not belong to any Pimontese district.

Thank you Amena!!! Enlarging the image I can see that, probably, on the helmet there's a number and not the letter B.... the second digit seems to be an 8, but I can't find the code of the related department...any suggestions?
