I am not sure about the silver maker´s mark. Could it be William Turner? I also cannot identify the date letter.

Definitely William Turner - the stop at the end is a distinctive feature. Turner registered this mark in June 1754 and these forms of the crowned leopard's head and lion passant marks were only in use until 1755/56. So the date letter (the mark on the left) can only be "t" or "u":
