Hi,
So help would be appreciated with identifying the St.Petersburg ( 1882 ) maker's marks ( PEA in cyrillic? ) on this trompe l`oeil podstakannik (in the pictures below ) if you please.

Help with identifying maker's marks, please.
Re: Help with identifying maker's marks, please.
The maker's initials are actually ПДЕ (Latin PYeD) He is Pjotr Yermolayevich Davidov, active ~1874~1882/94 (?) in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt. That is a really nice podstakannik. Really pity that there is no glass or have you the glass?
Re: Help with identifying maker's marks, please.
Sorry, the initials are ПЕД, fingers slipped on wrong key
Re: Help with identifying maker's marks, please.
Thank you very much for your helping hand once again, Qrt.S.
Thanks, it really is a nice one. Yes, what a pity indeed for lacking the original glass. Well, one can not allways have everything. Still though quite satisfied for this piece.

Re: Help with identifying maker's marks, please.
You are welcome. Here a hint to find a suitable glass. I see that your location is Helsinki. You might find a suitable glass in second hand shops or flea markets. You see the glass's measures was used also in USSR and exported to Finland. Packages of six were commonly sold in many shops around 1960-80 among those Elanto on Aleksanterinkatu and i Hakaniemi, so there are still glass "floating around". I have seen them now and then. The measures are: bottom Ø 65mm and top Ø 70mm and height 100mm. The glass must not fit tight in the podstakannik due to the expansion caused by the hot water. If you need more info gimme a PM.

Thank you for the tip, Qrt.S. Hopefully I will be lucky with finding a suitable glass for it. ( Perhaps it might happen in the shop of Ritva Blomqvist. She happens to have a sortie of possible candidates but not now among her present sortie.)
