Spoon Moscow unknown maker

Post by silverfan »

Assayed by Andrej Kowalski 1844 in Moscow this spoon bears the maker's mark F.C. Is it PL 3030 though without point?
Can anybody read something from the inscription though very tiny? I cannot make a better photo.

Thank you AG2012, but my question was if F.C is PL 3030 though with point or if there is perhaps another maker with this mark.

Most likely it is the same maker because it was forbidden by law to use the same initials in the same town at the same time. Kovalskij assayed in Moscow 1821/2-1856, so!

Hi,
The inscription is not legible?
Not every word from the same angle, too much flare. The word in the middle is МАШИНКИ (MASHINKI).
The name is Masha in nominativ, to Masha is Mashinki,i.e. gift to Masha.
Try to take several images from different angles and post them;hopefully we will read it.
Regards
