Mystery Mills Gravy Boat??? - Please help identify...thanks!

Post by chucktheaggie »

Hello All,
This gravy boat is a mystery to me. I can't find anything about a manufacturer called "Mills" with this hallmark, also I have no idea why there would be a "48" or a "22" stamp. The castle tower stamp is also unknown to me. Would love to solve the mystery so I reach out to the esteemed members on this forum and their knowledge.
Any information on this gravy boat would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you all in advance for your time.

Thank You Dognose and Traintime for the info. Looks like you guys found it!
The only question left for me was, is this the correct forum to post this? This gravy (sauce) boat is Silverplate correct?
Thanks again!

I assume so. The '22' is probably the indicator, perhaps for a pair.

See: https://www.925-1000.com/a_platenumbers.html

To my knowledge, I've yet to see anything of solid silver by H.N. Mills, but that's not to say they didn't make any.
