Little cup and saucer Chinese (?)

Post by Mondinat »

Hello, I was gifted this little silver (?) cup and saucer at my christening all those centuries ago. Now, I have found it again and was wondering if it is silver, is it Chinese, what do the characters say? It is very sweet as it has a man sitting fanning himself. Could anybody tell me something about it? I include some photographs.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Your cup and saucer are the work of Bao Cheng of Tientsin. Their working period is thought to be 1895 to 1920.

Can you post some more images of the items?
