Additional Marks on a Brimingham Cruet Set

I have a cruet set what was left to me by an aunt of mine which she got from the grandmother. If I read the marks correctly it is Sterling Silver from Adie Brothers, Birmingham from 1862. However it has an additional set of marks giving the .925 silver mark with an additional letter "E" (almost like a large Episilon, and what looks like a "M" with an additional squiggle accross it. Does anyone know what these marke might be. I believe that the .925 is normally associated with Imports. All items in the crues set, including the tiny spoons, are all marked the same way.

Yes Adie Brothers of Birmingham, but the year of assay is 1954.

The lower set of marks are Irish import marks, Dublin, 1955.

Thank you for your welcome and help Trev as my interests lie in mostly in china with little experience in silver.

But this is obviously a family piece and why I am researching it. But here is where it gets interesting. I am enclosing a card from Aunt from March 1995 where she stared she go it in 1944 from her mother on her engagement. Its unlikely she got the date of that wrong. SO this date doesn't make sence but the import marks to Ireland make complete sense. Other than mixing up the present she got (or indeed the first proof of time travel) is there any other explanation from these marks?

Perhaps your aunt was thinking about another set? Or perhaps she meant to write '1954'?

She was married in 1946 but died in 2000. So she must have mixed something up.

interesting read; I've 3 silver napkin rings with exactly the same marks. I wondered what they were. Now I know, Irish import marks. Glad I read your post. Cheers. Gary
