Hi all im new to this but would love if you could hlp i have a silver chalace in an octagon box with the round silver plate that goes with it.
Could any of you tell me the maker mark D&S with birmingham anchor with a lion facing left with its paw up and a date letter of O i think the date is 1913 the chalace is irish it has a makers mark of J S with the date letter of W in a perfect square, i know its irish as it has the harp stamp on it , it also has a lady sat down facing left with something in her hand.
If anyone could help with the makers marks i would be really greatful.

D&S - Birmingham - 1913 - best guess is that its Deykin & Son, manufacturers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

As for the Irish piece - date letter sounds like that for 1964. My references are not great for post 1900 makers, so can't help you with this maker.

Thanks Waylander ill give more info when i get a picture my digital camera just went bust, would you believe it one month after the 3 year guarantee, well thats life.
