Hi I've acquired this japanese trinket box from an old relative.
I'm sure its silver and have been searching the internet to see what the hallmarks mean. I've had no luck at all.
I sent pictures to a chinese silver expert who told me it was japanese hallmarks, thanks to him I'm now a member of this great site.
He directed me to a post about japanese silver candlesticks that has very similar makers mark but the post is unsolved.
If anyone one has the knowledge to tell me what they mean it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks again

Japanese silver trinket box?
Re: Japanese silver trinket box?
Always difficult to tell from images alone, but to me, this doesn't look like silver, more like Japanese Antimony ware.
