Markings on a silver bowl

I would like to know the meaning behind the markings found on this silver bowl.

- The symbol of a hand holding a cross
- The letter markings A B followed by two symbols
- The number marking 2493 3

It is not solid silver but silver plated and made by Atkin Brothers,Sheffield.
