Spoon marks

Post by jok23 »

Two spoons with unusual marks. One has a key, struck twice and makers marks ER or FR.
Other spoon has two script marks. Any ideas on either?

Does anyone have an example of the mark of Francesco Ramayon of Gibraltar? The two key marks are associated with Gibraltar silver, and the initials would fit with the known Gibraltar silversmith Francesco Ramayon (working c.1830-1850), but I have not an example of his mark.

Hi guys,

Trev is right. Below is an image from the article in The Journal of The Silver Society Number 27 2011 about Gibraltar silver.

Great spoon...very jealous!

Hi Ben,

Many thanks for posting the image and confirming the mark of Francesco Ramayon.
