Date and Makers Mark on Queen-Anne era silver porringer?

Post by Chanbeompark »

Hi, I was wondering what the year and maker of this Queen-Anne era Porringer may be? It is made in Britannia standard silver and weighs a bit over 300 grams. Any information on this piece may be greatly appreciated.Image

You seem to be having problems with embedding your pictures. You need to work out where your image host is storing your pictures - in some browsers you can right-click on the image and copy its location to your clipboard. Then just paste the location into your post and add the IMG tags.

Here are your pictures:

The maker of your porringer is Thomas Port who registered this mark on 3rd June 1713. I cannot work out what the date letter might be.

Thanks for the information! After a bit more research I think that the date letter may be for 1715.

Hi All,

These photos are for a current eBay listing in Australia and do not belong to the OP. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is against forum rules.

Cheers,

Hi Steve,

Hopefully the OP is either the seller or has permission to use the images.

Hi Chanbeompark,

Can you confirm the above?
