I have 2 spoons that look to be coin silver w E. Rowse stamped on back.
They also have initials O.A.R. engraved on back which was the person that owned them.I have a larger spoon, almost 2x size of a tablespoon that came with these engraved Oct. Robe on front of handle and Beasom & Reed stamped in one section on back and Nashua on another part of the handle.
This same person had 5 other coin silver spoons engraved with O.A.R. but have maker stamp J.Ridgway.
I have not been able to find any info on ridgway or Rowse .
Any ideas when and where these were manufactured?

The owner seems to have traveled about -- Boston MA, Nashua NH, and Augusta ME.
Edward Rowse
James or John or John -- no one has established with certainty which of the three used the mark J.RIDGWAY or if they all did.

marks
I will post photos of the marks in the coin silver section w photos.
Mine just say E. Rowse. and the link you gave seems to say E Rowse jr.
Maybe he had a father or relative with same initial?
I also have a mark for the J. Ridgway .. which can be forwarded to the site you gave a link to,since they do not have any marks for the Ridgways you mentioned.
Thanks for the info .

I presume Rowse used that mark until his father died; I have seen three other versions, but the one shown is the only one I own. As for the Ridgeway's, I have not put up the mark for any of them on my site, as it is not known which (if not some or all) used it; there is enough mis-information about silver spread across the web without consciously adding to it.
