New to the forum and looking forward to any responses. I have a cigar/cigarette case and it has this mark on the bottom. Is anyone able to give me any information on the mark? It would be much appreciated.
The upper set of characters "純銀" translates to "pure silver". Although no purity is given, items with this mark are often 0.800 to 0.925 fine silver or greater.
I cannot read the other sets of marks, but one set is likely to be the name of the silversmith. The other set may be commemorating an occasion or recipient.
Let's see if other members can provide additional details.
