Help Identifying Hallmark on 800 silver bracelet

I was told it was likely Italian, but I can't find the hallmark anywhere!! To me it looks like an R inside of an open parentheses? Anyone seen anything like it?

Also, it looks to me as if it says Sterling although it's 800 silver. I'm thoroughly confused. Any insight? Thanks :-)
