I have this nice antique teapot.
According to 2 marks (1 in the lid and the other on the pot) it was imported in France between 1864 and 1893
It shows a weevil in an oval mark.
I can’t figure out from which country it is imported from.
On the bottom are 3 marks.
One that looks like a ‘D’ or a 'b'.
Another one that looks like 3 crowns.
And another that looks like an ‘8’ with the top missing.
Or the top is just polished away.
I can’t figure out where it is originally from.
Also I would be curious how old it really is.
Who could help me out?

Re: Unknown marks on imported tea pot
I am not sure if the piece is old but the three crowns is the mark for the Frisian city of Sneek in the Netherlands. Peter will be able to tell you if they are real marks or not. He is the resident expert in Dutch silver, especially pseudo dutch marks
Re: Unknown marks on imported tea pot
Indeed pseudo marks
Left to right; pseudo year-letter D (Citroen valse zilvermerken in Nederland #58), pseudo town mark of Sneek (Citroen #606), Pseudo maker's mark, pliers, (Citroen #480). Probably made in province of Friesland around 1890, circle of silversmith Alle de Haas.

Thanks so much!
I am really grateful for all the expertise on this forum.
I looked everywhere online, but couldn't find it.
Would be nice if the book "Valse zilvermerken in Nederland" from K.Citroen would become available as an E-book.
Hard copies are pretty expensive.
I have another object on this same forum.
