Hi, I bought this spoon a little while ago from a Swedish Auction house where it was merely titled as a '17-18th century northern European spoon'. The finial is a little man with a turban and a sash with his hands folded behind his back. It is marked either CS, C-S, or GS. I lean towards GS. it measures just under 7" long. I don't hold much hope to identifying it but if anyone can shed any light I would be appreciative.
Some auction houses tend to tell fairy tales only in order sell with profit. In my eyes the spoon looks rather newly made. In those days spoons were made for use and not collected. There are hardly any traces of wear and tear on it and it also looks very new. Anyway, I tried Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark without any luck, sorry!
