Hello, and thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to read this and look at the pictures. I found this beautiful tea set and have spent hours researching the marks, and found another mark after cleaning it. I understand that the brand is the Standard Silver CO from Toronto, but my question is the other markings. There is a number on the bottom of each piece that I don't understand which is 2032 1/2. I'm also confused by the mark on the left of it that either says Tros or Tris perhaps? It's only on the one piece. On the bottom of the tray is a whole other company (F.B. ROGERS), so I'm not sure if they collaborated at one time or if the tray is part of a completely different set. Any information explaining ANYTHING would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Re: Standard Silver CO Toronto Tea Set
Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
The tray and the tea-set appear to be completely different from each other and probably just ended up together as a convenient size match.
The numbers will just be the manufacturers internal pattern/batch/order type identification coding. The sort of information that would be required for re-ordering or warranty claims etc.
The other mark appears to be some kind of personal inventory marking, likely by a former owner of the set or by a jeweller/pawnbroker for identification purposes.

Re: Standard Silver CO Toronto Tea Set
Thank you for your reply, and the welcome! And thank you for clarifying the number thing, I was thinking it had to do with silver content! Is there any way to know if it's all silver or just plated if it's not marked? I'm assuming that means it's plated, but thought I'd ask. Thank you again!

Hi,
To my knowledge, the Standard Silver Co. of Toronto only manufactured plated wares.
