Hi all,
I found this silver pill box in York recently and I'm struggling to identify the marks.
The only reference to M&M I can find relates to Manton & Mole, which I thought was from Birmingham, but there isn't a Birmingham mark.
The second mark is 925 and in my limited experience this usually suggests European or more modern British silver.
The fourth mark looks like an italic T in a square, which I assume is the date mark.
The third image is one that I have never seen before, I can't find it from any of my searches - looks a bit like a Pokeball to me!
Any help would be appreciated.
Silver Pill Box Marks
Re: Silver Pill Box Marks
Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
They are London import marks for 1992. M & M would be the sponsors who submitted the article for assay.

Re: Silver Pill Box Marks
Hi,
Date letter t is 1993 as far as I can see (image is very small).
Next to it is London import mark, see here:
https://www.925-1000.com/importmarks.html
M&M (sponsor`s mark) is importer from London, name unknown.
Regards

Re: Silver Pill Box Marks
Thanks Trev, much appreciated.
Not very old then, probably a good thing as I'll be using it as a pill box when I'm away from home so I won't feel bad about it rattling around in my pocket.

Thanks to AG2012 as well,
I didn't spot the import marks when I was searching the site. Very informative.
