Real or fake russian silver
Hi Everyone,
I'm new to silver collecting and I came accross some interesting cups.
I've been reading up on maker's and assayer's marks and found that one of the makers seems to predate the assay date by several years, which to me immediately seems suspicious, however I didn't notice anything else obviously fake about the cups.
What do you guys think about these stamps?
Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi!
It is always prefered to see also the object in addition to the markings. Assayed in Moscow by Lev Fridrikhovitch Oleks (ло, 1890-96) and with makers mark ИЛ.
The initial ИЛ is quite common, anyway best candidate to have been made in the Itska Losinsky workshop (1882-1908).
Regards,
Juke

What about the initials П.К though? They don't seem to be in the database of maker's marks, but I'm unsure if that means they're not real or the maker is just obscure.

The П.К would be Pavel Koshelev (1882-1896) in Moscow.

Hello!
1. Kostroma province, the beginning of the 20th century, workshop "ИР".
2. "ПК" Kashirin, Krutikov or Koshelev...although the latter worked more with bronze.
3. Perhaps Itska Lozinsky, the city of Tula. It is necessary to see the object itself.
