Art Nouveau Spoon for the French Market

Trying to figure out who and where this spoon was made. It is marked "Sterling Silver Depose", no French hallmarks only the "depose", would this indicate it was made for the French market and possibly American made? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Made (probably) in France.The French Depose means registered, or copyright. Sterling silver suggest made for American market. If you Google depose silver you will find some other examples marked déposé 800 or 900 with or without an Europian silver import mark or French hallmarks, the boar’s head.

Hi,
French word Depose for registered design was often used by German, notably Pforzheim jewellers,and silver fineness for export ranged from 800 to over 925 (935).

A nice Jugendstil spoon, would welcome one like it in my collection - as already said, DÉPOSÉ is found fairly often on German silver...

Hello, agree with Cheryl, most likely of German origin. Have seen this pattern appear in 800 /1000 fine silver on German auction sites (unfortunately I do not remeber the maker) and it being attributed to designer M.J. Gradl. Regards, Bahner

The style of this spoon is quite unlike French Art Nouveau so I would go along with the suggestion it's German, it's much more like German Art Nouveau.
