Captain's Spoon (L WOLFE) Assistance Required

Hi all.

Another Captain's spoon that recently came in, this one is marked 12 Loth for indicating it is 750/1000 silver, L Wolfe is struck twice but would appear to be struck over another mark . Does anyone have any information on L Wolfe?

the engraving on the terminal I can not make out, last word may be Tallin? which would tie in with a shipping connection.

Any assistance with this one again would be greatly appreciated.

The last word is probably Stettin (Szczecin); also a major Baltic seaport. Tallinn was usually known as Reval until early 20th century.

Hello, believe this reads W. Geiseler / Stettin and L. Wolff. The 1866 directory of Pommern (the Pomerania region of Germany) lists a L. Wolff as gold- and silversmith in Stettin. Regards, Bahner

As already indicated by Sasropakis and Bahner, your Captain's Spoon was made by L. Wolff in Stettin, previously in Pomerania (Pommern) in Germany now Szczecin in Poland, for the merchant and ship's agent J. W. L. Geiseler in Stettin. His firm is to be found as W. Geiseler in the address books for Stettin from 1844 to 1882
