I have two more spoons I'm wondering about. They are 4" in length and marked "C Bard & Son", whom I have found as Conrad Bard. I have four questions on these:
1) Are they salt spoons?
2) Are they coin silver (they feel a bit too stiff for coin)?
3) What is the pattern?
4) What is their approximate age?
Your mark is for Conrad Bard and his son Edwin Milford Bard of Philadelphia, PA. The spoons would have probably been made around mid nineteenth century. For myself I would expect them to be coin silver without hesitation. They look very much like salt spoons, but the length is going to have a lot to do with that. I'd call the pattern beaded, but I don't know if there is a formal name.
