Hi folks
I have 4 Silver Vases which are distant family but have been in the family for a long time. Elderly second cousins great aunts mum so it is said.
I presume Turkish, there is a Tughra, so I guess pre 1923 and I think the mark is for 840 silver, but looks like the Egyptian 800.
Hope someone can educate me. Heavy, all 4 about 550g.
Appreciated as always.
Gary
Turkish Silver Vase
Re: Turkish Silver Vase
I can't see the images but if there are actual tughra, sah and ceshni marks, then it must be 900 silver.

Re: Turkish Silver Vase
Hi,
It is Persian (Iran) based on distinctive number 4 in 84 (upside down in your image): Easter Arabic, Persian and Urdu.
So, it is 840 silver fineness (it has already been discussed here, nothing to do with Russian 84 zolotnik).
Regards
