Need Help Identifying Maker's Mark
Re: Need Help Identifying Maker's Mark
Hello
Dictionaries of 19th C French maker’s marks list makers by first initial. The first initial of the mark on your object is worn or poorly stamped. Is there no other maker’s mark that could give us a better image?
Regards.

Re: Need Help Identifying Maker's Mark
The mark is AG with a lion passant: the mark of Alphonse Gombert, working in Paris 1896-1913, and from 1913 to 1924 in partnership with Paul Bibollet. (Bibollet continued on his own until 1934.)
Alphonse Jean Marie Gombert
Born: 27 Dec 1868, Doué, Seine-et-Marne, son of Charles Edouard Gombert & Clarisse Zulmée Crevel
Married 1: 17 Apr 1897, to Jeanne Azeline Chaudot (1863-1918)
Married 2: 10 Mar 1920, to Aimee Angelique Dieupart (b. 1884)
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find out when or where Gombert died.
Hope this helps!
