I don't wonder that you didn't manage to find the maker, either did I. This is a tricky case and I am not 100% sure of this answer only 99.9 :-))). I had to contact my Swedish friend who again had to contact another contact. Anyway, I got a most likely answer. The maker is Erik Erson Linderoth in Umeå SE. This particular mark is not mentioned in any books I know of, but he used several punches and it seems to that this was his last punch. Moreover, LInderoth was born 11.11.1825, became master 1858, was active in Umeå to 1881 when he died 10.10.1881. The spoon is dated 1883 as you also mentioned.
Actually there is another "problem " here. The spoon seems to carry the year mark E6 i.e. 1883, but according to the records Linderoth died in 1881??? Did his widow/company continue with the business after his death? Anyway, if so, that could explain the strange maker's mark LEn
Couldn't do any better, sorry. (Please don't ask me what the letter in the punch means. I don't know!)
Correct, Erik Erson Linderoth died 24.10 1885, (my typo, sorry) and yes, there was another Linderoth in Stockholm 1849-1861. His punch was E.LINDEROTH ( E for Erik) and he had worked with Umeå's Lindroth (his uncle) as a journeyman. Actually there was a third one too in Motala, but he was active later 1902-1930/31. The E.LINDEROOTHERSSON third mark you show is the mark Linderoth in Umeå usually used.
