FYI
In 20th-century Egypt, the national country hallmark for gold articles would feature the core image of a standing bird that, over the years has turned from facing left to then facing right. This core image, often identified by Westerners as the famous ancient Egyptian Ibis, has now been identified by the Egyptian Assay Office. The bird depicted as the Egyptian country hallmark for gold is a Larus, a type of Egyptian gull.
