Mark ID on Fork - Mappin & Webb??

Post by artic4673 »

Hello! I've been trying to identify the marks on this fork. It doesn't appear to be silverplated but I can't match the marks with sterling or coin silver marks on the site. I would appreciate any help!

Hi,

It's silver plated. Mappin & Webb's 'Mappin Plate' (MP).

Can you post a large close-up of the engraved logo on the handle?

Thank you. The fork appears to have come from the 'Ye Olde King and Queen' in Marlborough Place, Brighton. It was in the hands of the Edlin family in the 1930's.
