Help with these candlesticks, german, dresden, hanau?
This pair of candle holders is up for auction and I'm winning the bid. It says it's silver plated, but I think it could be silver. Has anyone seen these marks?

I found, the last mark is Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot, famous french goldsmith. But is silverplated.
Re: Help with these candlesticks, german, dresden, hanau?
I doubt it`s legitimate (genuine) Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot mark (diamond shaped mark is reserved for pure silver), not for silver plate items where rectangle mark is expected.

This is an interesting question.diamond shaped mark is reserved for pure silver
Is it really true that the lozenge mark is reserved for solid silver?
I happened to find cutlery, French I think, with a lozenge mark, but certainly plated. In some places the base metal was showing and the hallmark was missing.
So????
