18th century knife with unknown hallmarks

Post by Vantlicht »

I love this knife with the nice images, but I really would like to know who was the maker. I searched alreay at several sites, books, but till now with no luck. Maybe somebody at this forum knows it?

The blade of the knife is a later replacement, made in Sweden.
Although I am not sure. The maker's mark WE in monogram, in serrated rectangle for; Willem Entinck, registered in Groningen, 1723-1745
The other mark to the left of your image perhaps remnant of the crowned O, a later taxfree mark of 1807. Can you show us a better image of the complete marks?

Peter.
