Hi. Help on the stamps - 1) the rabbit (hare) brand unofficial brand of Belgium silver (4)~830 silver sample, 2) the fish brand, Denmark master Hans Jensen-SILVERPLATE. Could it be?
Your brush, then the third mark, far right shoud be the number 1,2 or 3, indicating the standard of fineness. If it one of these numbers it is indeed silver. https://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopi ... an#p196357
Peter.
oel-Thank you so much for your attention to the topic, but the fact is that the owner of the brush handed over the samples to the jeweler for verification and the jeweler said-SILVERPLATE.
At your brush,to be frank I do not recognize a standard number 1,2 or 3. I do not know if the jeweler draw his conclusion silver-plated, by looking at the marks only, or draw his conclusion after performing a proper (acid) silver test? The owner always can go for a second opinion.
As you already know, the Belgian barrel responsibility mark for precious metal, must be accompanied by a proper fineness mark or standard mark either with a number 1,2 or 3. The marks are self applied by silversmith/importer or retailer.

Aleks, perhaps this proves the barrel shaped Belgian responsibility mark, registered by the Royal Mint of Belgium, was also used on silver plated items but without a self applied unofficial standard mark.
Aleks, the number 2 on the ashtray should stand for 2nd standard silver (835/000). It is a self applied unofficial silver standard.
