Please help with identifying, fist and crescent in lozenge

Post by daria94 »

Hello!

I kindly ask you for help me with identifying following hallmarks - fist holding something with letter A or number 1 on top, small crescent with star or letters C or G in lozenge:

Here is the item itself

The item also has this hallmark, but I have already identified it as Belgian import (see below hallmark and description from Miller's)

Initially I thought there were Malta, Belgium or Morocco, but I haven't found nothing similar (Morocco has a crescent with star, somehow similar to mine, but in long oval, not lozenge).

Thank you!

The silversmiths working in Aarschot, Diest and the city of Tienen had to use the assay office in Leuven.
The fist holding a stick, Belgian regional assay office mark for Leuven, assay office letter "ɪ", used 1815-1832. The Gothic E for Étranger=foreign, used 1832-1869.

To me it appears the sugar bowl, the glass liner/inner bowl is a later replacement.

Yes, definitely, it doesn't fully suit and slightly shivers inside. However, still fully functional :)
