A friend of mine has this silver Torah Yad which has an inscribed dedication from Glasgow dated 1887.

I cannot find a match for the maker J.K who might that be?

Scottish gold & silversmith records are held by the Incorporation of Goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh and there is an online resource allowing us to access Edinburgh, Glasgow and provincial sponsors' marks. Although this lists a number of JK marks, none of them span the right time frame.
