is Oriental box?

Post by mysterling »

Good morning everyone and happy holidays.
I don't even know if I'm in the right place because I don't know if this box is Indian or from another origin.
It must be very old because before cleaning it was completely black.
Someone manages to guess some information through the hallmarks?
Thank you

Not Oriental, nor Dutch ( I stand corrected) but German, perhaps Breslau.

If maker's mark IVI for Johann Valentin Jentha, Breslau circa 1804-1815 or for Johann Valentin Jeuthe, Breslau circa 1830,
If IAL for Johann Adam Lemor, Breslau circa 1830.

Let us wait for Theoderich to drop in,
