Silver vase persia, trouble identifying
Silver vase persia, trouble identifying
My parents lived in Iran during the years 1947-1975.
I inherited this vase and friends who can read farsi have made attempts to identify the engravings.
Result:
Barodaran = Brothers
2 Bahalvi or maybe 2 Pahlavi
84 = silver content, no problem with that.
My guess - Brothers can be the retailer/shop, 2 Pahlavi could refer to Pahlavi avenue in Teheran.
Can anyone give me information or other explanations?
Best regards!
Re: Silver vase persia, trouble identifying
Hello
The script appears to be برادران برداگي
The first word is baradaran (brothers) but the second would be transcribed in Roman script as bardagi. This is likely a family name so Bardagi Brothers or something similar.

Thank you, Damon!
I believe you have solved it!
Now I just hope that someone on the forum has any knowledge to share about the brothers - where? and when?
